Dagny Przybyszewska
Dagny Przybyszewska, née Juell (later Juel) (1867–1901)
Norwegian writer, translator. Daughter of Hans L. Juell, sister of Ragnhild Bäckström, married to Stanislaw Przybyszewski. DJP studied music, first in Kristiania and from 1892 in Berlin. Eventually devoted more and more of her time to her writing. Translated her husband’s novel Underveis from German to Norwegian and Sigbjørn Obstfelser’s novella “Sletten” to German. Dagny Przybyszewska was shot in Tblisi in 1901 by Wladyslav Emeryk who committed immediately suicide afterwards. Her two children were adopted by her sister Gudrun Westrup in Sweden. Buried in Tblisi, Georgia. Had her portrait painted by Munch.
